Technical information about this website’s accessibility

The Seren Academy, on behalf of the Welsh Government, is committed to making this website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 – Level AA standard, due to the issues listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

  • Some link text and interactive controls may not clearly communicate what will happen when activated (for example, where an action could change context). This can affect some screen reader users and people with cognitive impairments.
Relevant WCAG criteria referenced in the audit: 2.4.4 (Level A) and 4.1.2 (Level A).

Other issues

  • In some areas (for example, Terms of Use / Privacy Policy), using the browser “Back” control may return a user unexpectedly to the sign-in page, which could be disorientating for some users (including screen reader users, keyboard-only users, and people with cognitive impairments).

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

We will:

  • carry out further accessibility testing and update this statement accordingly
  • review link text and interactive control labelling to ensure intent and outcomes are clear
  • investigate and fix the “Back” navigation behaviour so it returns users to the expected page
